Surf Courses for Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Schools

GO Surf School offers a range of surf safety, surf education, surfboard riding, and paddleboarding programs all year round. All programs are tailored to the school and age of the participants and are run in conjunction with Surfing Australia’s Safe Surfing Program.

We focus on fun, fitness, surf skills, ocean awareness, safety, and team morale building. Our students learn surf safety (rips, shore-breaks, wipeouts), surfing skills, paddling, standing, turning, surf etiquette, and to respect the marine and coastal environment. Whatever the age, shape, or experience of your students, we cater for everyone and are ready to GO when you are.

When you book with Go Surf we will provide your school with all the necessary documentation required including: Certificate of Currency, Risk Assessment, Guide for Schools, Checklist for Schools, Letter to Parents, Indemnity Forms and Booking Sheet.

Go Surf is all about kids learning to surf in a fun, exciting and safe environment. Surfing is a ‘whole of life’ sport. Unlike many other mainstream sports, surfers are still getting out in the environment (even in winter), with their friends, travelling and keeping fit, healthy and active well into their 60’s and beyond. Our surfing programs are the key to developing the skills kids will embrace for a lifetime!

Go Surf is acutely aware of many parents concern about their child entering competitive sports too early. Surfing is essentially a non competitive sport and the our surfing programs focus is on participation and enjoyment, NOT on winning.  Most surfers will surf their whole lives without entering a single competition. Competitive surfing is something that surfers can graduate to later on if they want wish.

We have a range of Programs from single sessions to multi session programs. We can tailor Programs to perfectly suit your school and student requirements. Our School Surfing Programs can include not only surfing but also interactive surf awareness discussions and other surf sports.

Our comprehensive lesson plans and program will keep your students engaged and learning in a safe, enjoyable and non-threatening environment with our fully qualified professional surf instructors and staff.

Our popular school surfing programs are based on the students having a heap of fun while at the same time learning about the ocean and growing in confidence being in the surf.

We will tailor the program to meet your needs and what you would like your students to learn and understand. As a general program, we cover:

• Basic surfing skills and techniques
• Basic ocean awareness and surf safety
• 10 Basic Surf Safety rules

The children all have a fantastic time and it also teaches them many new skills and helps them gain the important confidence in the ocean and waves.

We are able to offer schools a variety of different types of programs to fit into the needs of the individual schools programs and projected outcomes.

Go Surf School Surfing Programs can be tailored for:

• Multi Sessions in 1 Day Excursion
• Multi Day Excursion. 2-4 sessions per program, on consecutive days or weekly.
• Overnight and multi day programs for School Camps

Our School Surfing Programs can directly meet a number of important Student Learning Outcomes ensuring that when your students are completing their Programs with us, not only are they have a lot of fun but they are also beneficially utilising their time by achieving beneficial learning outcomes, learning and understanding vital lifelong information and developing important practical skills.

‘Certificate of Safe Surfing’ Program cost:

All students will receive a ‘Certificate of Safe Surfing’ upon completion.

Prices include GST and are per student based on a booking of 14 plus students for Warrnambool & Cape Bridgewater and 8 plus students for Port Fairy. Two teachers per class are FREE subject to the availability of equipment.

GO Surf School runs SurfGrom programs for primary schools over a series of 2 or 3 surf sessions. SurfGroms is a world-first, cutting-edge, national junior sporting program. Talk to us about special school prices, funding opportunities and how we can customize the program for your students.

Schools can use Sporting Schools Funding to pay for Surfgrom programs.

Let your students experience the fun of Stand-Up Paddleboarding in a beautiful and safe environment.  Suitable for upper primary, secondary and adults. We take SUP groups of 8 at a time, 16 in conjunction with giant sup.

Beginner SUP lesson with all equipment provided.

• Port Fairy 2hr $45pp (river to beach lesson tour, based on 6 plus booking)
• Port Fairy 1hr $30pp (beach lesson, based on 6 plus booking)
• Port Fairy 1hr SUP + 1hr Giant SUP hire $45pp (beach lesson, based on 14 plus booking)

Check out our new Giant SUP. It’s become a fast favorite with secondary school groups. Perfect to be hired when you want to do paddleboarding but have more than 8 students as they can switch between structured lessons and playing on the Super SUP!

Combination Surf / SUP Programs

We offer discounts for booking combinations of both Surf and SUP lessons. This is the perfect activity for students 10yrs+. We can tailor a Surf/SUP program to suit your needs.

• Port Fairy 1hr Surf + 1hr SUP $50pp. (beach lesson, price based on a booking of 14 plus students)
• Port Fairy 2hr Surf + 1hr SUP $60pp. (beach lesson, price based on a booking of 8 plus students)
• Port Fairy 2hr Surf + 2hr SUP $70pp. (beach & river lesson, price based on a booking of 8 plus students)
