No. The necessary surfing equipment, including a suitable surfboard and wetsuit, is provided with our surf lessons unless otherwise stated.

Absolutely. You don’t need to have learnt as a child. Our beginner surf lessons cater for adults as well as children and teenagers, with coaching adapted to your experience and ability.

Bring bathers, a towel, sunscreen and drinking water. We provide the surfing equipment required for your lesson. In warmer weather, a hat and sun protection for before and after the session are also recommended.

Surfing is weather and conditions dependent. GO Surf monitors conditions and may change, postpone or cancel a session where conditions are unsuitable. Please ensure the mobile number supplied with your booking is current so we can contact you about important session updates.

Participant safety comes first. GO Surf coaches assess ocean and beach conditions and follow appropriate safety procedures. Sessions may be moved, paused or cancelled if conditions or an identified hazard make proceeding unsuitable.

Lesson duration depends on the program. GO Surf offers individual beginner lessons as well as multi-day kids programs and SurfGroms. Check the activity page when booking for the current session duration.

SurfGroms is designed for children aged 5–12 and combines learning to surf with ocean awareness, confidence and beach-based activities. Our Kids Holiday Surf Program caters for ages 5–14 over two or three consecutive days, with more time focused on developing surfing skills and technique.

Yes. GO Surf offers private surf lessons for individuals, families and small groups in Port Fairy and Warrnambool, subject to availability and conditions.

We run surfing lessons at Cape Bridgewater for schools and large groups. We do run a few surfing lessons at Cape Bridgewater for the general public and kids intensive programs over the summer holidays. But Port Fairy is a lovely day trip so come on over and have a surf or SUP!
