Locations

We operate our surfing and SUP lessons out of three locations. Port Fairy, Warrnambool & Cape Bridgewater.

Port Fairy

Victoria, home of GO Surf School. A 3½-hours drive from Melbourne CBD.

GO Surf School operates in Port Fairy for SurfGroms, Surf Lessons, Stand Up Paddleboard Lessons, Hire, Corporate, Private and School Groups and bookings of 6+.

Port Fairy recently won the ‘Most Liveable Community in the World’ under 20,000, and when you visit us you’ll know why we live here. It’s one of the most beautiful locations in the South West!

Gentle, rolling waves along East Beach offer a tranquil and very safe surfing experience. The wind is offshore most of the time and therefore perfect for learning to surf. Further afield, the reefs and nearby beaches offer more challenging waves that will satisfy the keenest surfer.

The Moyne River offers the perfect backdrop for a SUPing expedition, meandering through to the ocean with stunning views of the historic Port Fairy lighthouse. If you’ve ever visited Port Fairy, you’ll completely understand why we call it home.

There are plenty of local accommodation options, from quaint little B&Bs to contemporary beach houses and caravan parks to suit individuals, groups and schools.

We work with Southcombe Lodge in Port Fairy to deliver surfing programs to schools and groups of all sizes. Check out their fantastic camp here-

Warrnambool

GO Surf School operates in Warrnambool for SurfGroms, Surf Lessons, Corporate, Private and School Groups and bookings of 8+.

Lady Bay is a tranquil, predominantly south-facing beach that’s an ideal location to learn to surf. We conduct surfing lessons from McGennan’s Beach car park just past the Warrnambool Surf Club and Main Beach Kiosk. Google map.

The Hopkins and Merri Rivers also offer great locations to SUP for the first time, and these meander through parts of town to the sea. To the east of the Hopkins lies Logan’s Beach and a specially-constructed platform designed to overlook a whale nursery that’s frequented by female Southern Right Whales and their calves. It’s also where more experienced surfers find powerful Southern Ocean waves most of the year round.

GO Surf School runs classes for surfing in Warrnambool all summer holidays.

We work with the Warra Gnan Camp in Warrnambool and Kangaroobie in Princetown to deliver surfing  programs to schools and groups of all sizes. Check out their fantastic camps here:

Cape Bridgewater, located 15km west of Portland, was voted as one of the top ten beaches in Australia. Widely known for its safe waters and spilling waves Cape Bridgewater is the perfect location to learn to surf, or to try stand-up paddleboarding at the nearby Bridgewater Lakes.

Cape Bridgewater is a small, isolated settlement surrounded by stunning views, great walks and an abundance of wildlife. It’s not uncommon to spot whales or seals and dolphins frolicking around in the waves.
